Nomination Background
Cesar Rangel began his musical studies in “el Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela.”- “El SISTEMA”. His insatiable desire to excel both musically and professionally led him to pursue a Bachelor degree in music in “El Conservatorio de Musica Carabobo, Venezuela” and the University of Miami as well as New World School of the Arts (E.U.A.). Also Cesar has a Bachelor degree in Psychology, in “Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua”, Venezuela.

Cesar serves as President of “El Sistema de Orquestas y Coros” in the Venezuelan state of Aragua and president of “La Fundación Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado Aragua” which teaches over 40,000 children and youth from “El SISTEMA” in Venezuela. It is with this experience in hand that Cesar can speak to the substantial merit and broad implications. In that time, he served as a professor and instructor of social and orchestral development at several universities in Trinidad and Tobago, Boston U.S. Italy, Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela.

In 2016, Cesar founded “Youth Enlightenment System (YES)” MOVEMENT program, which was developed to present and demonstrate the importance and social impact of “El Sistema” (the system of orchestra and bands from Venezuela) and its related initiatives involving the integral development of youth in the Miami-Dade area.

Several investigations have demonstrated the substantial merit of these endeavors: 1) the life of every young person psychologically, professionally and educationally 2) families, by restoring traditional values 3) society, by producing a positive transformation. Since its founding, more than 400 actual participants have benefited from the project just in one sector of Venezuela with over one million participants world-wide.

In Youth Enlightenment System, we have organized activities such as festivals, Professional Development workshops, Master-classes, Concerts, many community events. YES was also invited to realize a concert at the White House in Washington DC, being picked for their social labor and impact by the president of the United States Mr. Donald Trump and the First Lady Mrs. Melania Trump; recognizing the success that has transcended the project in representation of the city, state, and nation, he’s convinced that music and faith sublimate being, transforming it from its essence. This expressed in the life and virtue of a child; they become the real possibility of generating full men and women in their spirit; able to change for good, the destiny of their generation as model citizens.
